Ickworth House by phil_sandford

Ickworth House

A really lovely (if somewhat cold) day wandering around my old school town, Bury St Edmunds in suffolk, with Carole. Abbey gardens, the ruins of what was Europe’s 4th largest Benedictine Abbey, today’s more modern St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Ickworth House (where my Mum used to do voluntary work for the NT)l; then a visit to my home town of Thetford (now a very sad shadow of the town that I lived in from ‘75), a trip to my Parents grave and a drive past my old family house (still pink).

This is Ickworth House (I’d have needed a drone to have captured it all - it’s huge) from the Italianate Garden at the rear - it’s a National Trust property just outside Bury.
