Back home after brief our jaunt to Cornwall; a day of admin (taking Carole's car into the dealer for a repair (that didn't happen - another part ordered), washing, food shopping, preparing for back to work myself tomorrow (0400 trip down to Cheltenham) and sorting out stuff.
Garden is begining to come to life now; there are a few 'late' tulips in bloom, these are two of them; I lost a whole load of tulips in the recent winters, I didn't know you were supposed to lift them. That said, I do know you are supposed to lift Dahlias, but last December after the first frost of the Winter, due to a number of family issues, our Dahlias were left in the ground and I never got around to lifting them. New purchases are currently in the greenhouse happily sprouting, but this morning Carole and I noticed that our Dahlia bed is brimming with green shoots. Seems Monty Don knows what he's talking about when he says we don't get the frosts in the UK to worry about lifting Dahlias.
