Black over Bill's Mothers by phil_sandford

Black over Bill's Mothers

Flaming June eh? The rain today has been almost biblical.

This is a shot from the hills overlooking Stroud on my way from Bath to Cheltenham for an evening of catching up with IT admin in the office. A few minutes after I took this, it rained so hard my wipers on full speed couldn't cope and I had to stop the car.

Roll on July and Summer
Nice capture Phil 🙂

We've had a run of biblical downpours here as well. But no complaints, we so need the rain. This landscape is so lush and green. It looks great.

looks like lots of rain in those clouds off in the distance. We had rain like that a few days ago. It is scary driving in such a downpour isn't it.

Black over Bill's Mothers! I've heard this saying before, quite a lot of times actually from a facebook friend. But what does it mean. Who is this Bill? Cracking capture mate. Is that rain in the distance? Love the band of light over that way :)

@paul10 I'd never heard of it 'til I met and married Carole. Think it is sn E Midland saying. As for Bill and his Mum? Not a clue 😜😜

Wonderful! How English is this? We had just the same here in Suffolk where they say 'Will's mother's' Never heard it until I came here from London. The person who said it was an elderly lady and I genuinely said ' Oh who is Will's mother?!' Hahaha! fav

@johnsutton @louannwarren @gaylewood @henrir @carole_sandford @365karly1 @milaniet @onewing @lyndamcg @happysnaps @777margo @paul10 @Cherrill thank you all once again for your views comments and favs. "Black over bills mothers", is a saying that I learned from Carole, I've certainly never heard of it before I met her, but it's quite apt for weather like this
