No apologies, for another sunset (it’s one of the things we came to Cyprus for)
We’ve had a day of culture today; Kolossi Castle (which I first visited aged 8), Curium Ampitheatre (now called Kourion), Curium Stadium, Temple of Apollo, a drive through Episkopi Garrison (and our wonderment that we used to do a race every year up that hill (Happy Valley Hill Climb) and then into Kato Paphos and the ancient ruins, incorporating the House of Dionysos (only bit excavated when I was here as a kid), House of Orpheus, Villa of Thesus, House of Aion, The Forum, the Theatre, the Byzantine Basilica of Chrysopolitissa & Church of Agia Kyriaki and, finally St Paul’s Pillar.
Then it was a brief jaunt to the harbour, next to the old fort to capture the sunset.
Currently sat in a harbour restaurant and our dinner of Swordfish Steak has just been served.
Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
What a wonderful way to end a memorable day. I feel as though I have travelled with you and your narrative brought back memories. Have they finished the Temple of Apollo yet? They were still building it when we were there, ha ha.
