The state bird of Washington is the American Goldfinch. But I think for the city of Seattle, it's the crane, i.e. the metal kind for building. I took a photo from my spouse's office window at South Lake Union and there were at least 5 cranes within view of the Space Needle. This one has less but I like the clouds in this one better.
Love the shot, a wonderful scene. I am smiling about your description of the cranes being in view 100% of the time. I just realized you are right, it has been a while since I haven't seen one there, and I only get there a couple of times a year.
