I went to see the great blue herons at the Rookery (Seattle Ballard Locks) today building their nests way up high on the trees. Always so amazing to watch these big birds (but only weighing 4 pounds) break the branch off the trees, fly off first with the branch, then come back to the nest and give the branch to their mate to add to the nest. This one is my favorite just because the bird seems to give me the look as if" You lookin' at me?!"
