Who do I have to kiss? by pusspup

Who do I have to kiss?

...to get a meal around here!!
Somewhat unusually these 'wild' kangaroos are so hungry since the fires that they are proactively approaching us for attention. This is Wylie 2 smooching this Eastern Grey 'roo. cute but sad too.
I'll take them some carrots tonight.
It is a very sad situation ... I saw they were doing to food drops for the animals but I guess there is only so much they can do ... I am just watching the fantastic program ... The magical land of oz .. really enjoying it .. You have some amazing animals...

Those poor little creatures - they will now be reliant on humans to sustain them until the next lot of rain and new growth. It's a great image though. Fav

Oh, those poor kangaroos. How sweet and sad at the same time.

Crackin' shot, plus - knowing the background information gives it a powerful pathos.

Beautiful shot that tells a story, mostly very sad.

Great image, but sad time in many parts of Oz. Our bases are Melbourne and Mallacoota, so it is a bit close for comfort to see the suffering from the fires.

@ethelperry thanks Ethel. I hope you weren’t in Mallacoota during the fires! Terrible time.

No, we weren’t, but a granddaughter and partner were there. They left town while they could. We used to live there for about 9 months each year, so became locals really. Our house survived unscathed. I now know what survivor guilt is.

@ethelperry glad to hear the house and family are ok. Don’t feel guilty, just make your thoughts known to those rotten pollies!

Don’t start me.

Great capture, desperate times for so many animals.

Great capture :)
January 21st, 2020
Awww, shows how desperate they are - will make it easy to help them though!
January 21st, 2020
Aaaw shame. So sad that there isn't enough food left for the surviving animals
January 21st, 2020
Quite the calamity, and unfortunately the effects will continue for a long time.
January 21st, 2020
The situation with the loss and impact on wildlife is catastrophic - houses can be rebuilt but the millions of animals killed during all of this are gone forever.........
January 21st, 2020
Very sad and poignant. But it also has that ray of hope. These animals did not run away but came to ask for help. Fav.

A heartrending sight when one knows the background story. A lovely photo and memory.

Too sad!!!

This is heartbreaking, but it is such a sweet scene. It also is important to document such a tragic time in your country.
