Lumin usitatissimum (Linaceae) by pyrrhula

Lumin usitatissimum (Linaceae)

In the old days this crop was very important for our country and much more cultivated then to day. We call this `` Vlas ``The stem is used for making linen a beautiful material . From the seeds they take the oil.
Line oil still use in oilpaints for artist. The rest was cowfeed ( lijnkoek) To extraction the oil we use special windmills and methode by beat the seeds
That's very interesting. Thanks for sharing

Great picture! Your description sounded familiar to me. One form of this is flax (or linseed) in my country. Flax is raised in my state, but is more commonly grown in other areas of my country. As in your country, flax used to be a very important crop. My grandparents spoke about linen and growing linen.

@pyrrhula @geertje...never seen a field like this. but know about the flexseeds which we eat raw.. and also the flaxseed oil or linseed oil.I do appreciate all your information.
I like to read Gertje's comments. try to understand what she says. I don't speak your language but its similar to German so I can kinda understand what she's saying.
