Most of the Hofjes are build in an U ( square) shape with on both side the houses. On the head the master building or office. But there are many hofjes and exceptions , as I know some build in a dead end road.
Looks well-planned for sitting down in the open with a coffee in hand and a good book. I suppose, they do not let you take photos at the Faberge Museum for security reasons - there are some very expensive items there.
