Treasures of the sea. by pyrrhula

Treasures of the sea.

This area ``Zeeland`` is well know, even famous, of his oysters and mussels growings. Worth to build a statue as many families earns a living on them.
That is a neat looking statue. Great shot.

Australia does this a lot...make big statues I mean to celebrate products of the area - the big banana, the big pineapple etc We even have the Big Gumboot in Tully, North Queensland. It stands 7.9m tall the record amount of rain that fell in the town in 1950. see http://www.cairnsunlimited.com/bigthings.htm if you are interested.

A mussel! One of my favorite shellfish. This is a nice photo with the brick slope up to the statue.

Interesting oyster creation

Wonderful capture and I agree with that it merits a monument if people earn a living out of oysters. I, too, prefer those old small shops where everybody talks to everybody. We went in the Milan gallery so that JP and Ian could see the architecture - I didn't need to because I had seen it already.
