Ray, our friend, Sylv, and I went out to lunch. I didn't know that Ray had planned a surprise photographic excursion afterwards to see St Mary's Church, Itchen Stoke.
"Sir Nikolaus Pevsner described St Mary as "serious and impressive" and "quite a remarkable church for its date". It is approached by a steep path up from the main road and the design was clearly influenced by the Sainte Chapelle in Paris."

Much French influence - Wikipediea describes " The circular floor is covered with glazed brown and green tiles laid out in the form of a labyrinth, as in Chartres Cathedral."
Thank you, Sylvia - I do understand your situation and am happy I can share with you. I did remark to Ray at breakfast this morning that we are lucky to have so much heritage here. He found this whilst out on a ramble - another bonus for me.
It's an amazing place. I have to go back as I didn't know we were going and only had my little Panasonic and there is stained glass there it just could not manage! (Well let's be absolutely correct: stained glass I could not capture with it....)

Never thought of that - shall have to investigate!

Linda, to be truthful Ray thought 365 was a bit too compelling for me when I started but now he often flags up photo opportunities!
Linda, thank you and I think it's impossible not to improve while doing 365?!
