rods of gold

I know not the botanical name of this plant and we always call it golden rod. It just flowers in our garden year on year late August.

Wonderful colour and dof. The colour reminds me of our beautiful wattle trees that are blooming prolifically at the moment :)

It flowers in our garden too, there seem to be more every year. The Dutch name is 'gulden roede'; gulden = gold

Kane, thank you. Knowing I was going to start this back to basics thread, I put the correct lens on my camera and went out into the garden to see what I could find. I've always maintained that I don't do much post-processing but it's emerging that I was doing more than I realised!!

@gijsje

Ah, the same 'common' name in both languages. We have two plants of gulden roede and one always flowers before the other.

Nice close-up. They make a tea out of them back here. It's supposed to be a healthy drink.
