I remember this growing in my grandmother's garden and think it is not quite as popular now.

My mother used to make quince jelly from the fruit of japonica. I found it a bit strange.

Sam after the blossom, after the blossom - the fruit are strange, hard and uninspiring whereas the quince jelly is runny - and uninspiring!

Very sweet photo. Our plant produces quinces too but yoo nervous to make jelly from them as try are very ugly fruits

A very pretty blossom , I love Quince, the fruit is a bit like a pear but skin is a bit furry , fruit a little gritty
But they are nice

Very popular here, and you can see them with white and pink flowers. The fruit are called quince and my wife makes jelly but nobody eats it! Nice detail and depth of field with this shot.

Beautiful flowers. We used to have two quince trees in our garden when we lived in Melbourne.
A friend of mine makes quince paste and I agree with Merrelyn @merrelyn it is delicious with cheese and crackers.
