no hiding place

Amazing what can be seen taking a poorly dog for a morning constitutional around the garden.

I think a red acer is not a good camouflage for a green insect. Hopefully somebody can identify this for me.....
Fav Hazel love the hidden details in the back ground hope Anne and i can meet up with yourself and Ray again Gerry x

Terrific insect capture and contrasting colours. I thought grasshopper but I havent seen one for years . Would be good to enter for the Contrast theme.

Hi Hazel - this is a type of Bush Cricket. A female one with that curved ovipositor. Crickets have a much more 'squidgey' (technical term!) body than a grashopper. A great find and not doing too well on the camouflage thing!

Love the contrasts here Hazel, even if it didnt serve as good camo for the insect!

@happypat

Not good, Pat, hardly any vision and on meds for kidneys. I am making him fish, chicken and rice, - blood test next week.

@Cherrill

Thank you, Cherrill. It does not look as if it can fly so I guess it climbed to its elevated position on the acer tree.

Oh dear poor Jinks. Hope he is okay.

This little chap isn't very well camouflaged is he, hope the birds don't spot him.
