This spider has been comfortable for a few days in a pot of pink fuchsias outside our front door . He hardly moved when I took his photo. Mostly when they hear the beep of a shutter, spiders quickly make for the farthest reaches of their web. He may well be hanging around in that pot still.
Our lovely friends are arriving today from Suffolk for the week. Have done some prep: made a cottage pie ready for tomorrow's meal. I want to do a cake and an apple pie this morning, and have a swim.
More swim, less pie I might say if i didn't feel you'd set this spider upon me! Great shot... I like the elliptical shape too.. our eyes surely form round images given that we don't have rectangular pupils

Yes but I rely on the beep to know I have taken the shot! Had an embarrassing experience once with a former camera which I thought wasn’t working but it had just got accidentally switched to silent mode.......
