Haze's Strangers: No.7: Justin and Colin

Justin(left) and Colin were working on landscaping a patio in a front garden down the road from us when I said hello and asked them for a portrait.

They posed in front of their van and the image between them is of Justin's father, Malcolm, who used to run the business but sadly passed away a few months ago. It was hand drawn and created from a photo of him.

Justin told me the strange but true story of the family of squirrels which used to frequent his father's garden. Two months before his dad died, one of the young squirrels took to going inside his dad's place and just sitting with him while he watched TV.

I think this photoshoot was pretty much arranged for me. The dynamics of working with two subjects are different from working with one. I was conscious that Justin and Colin were generously giving me time out from their work. And in the circumstances, I think that the van made a really nice background.
I am thoroughly enjoying your strangers project Hazel. Love the faces and stories!

i smiled when i saw this haze , Malcolm in the middle adds a touch of humour and makes the image for me. Nicely done and I agree that the dynamics change with two sitters (well 3 if you count Malcolm) I think you are a tad more relaxed with the additional sitter
