On the radio this morning, I learnt that Ford Motor Co has developed a 'noise-cancelling kennel prototype' which will help dogs who are spooked by fireworks etc.
I admit to having been an owner who gave Jinks fluffy toys for Christmas - until I realised that, once he had dispatched them, he was no longer interested. After that I prevailed upon Ray to bring home a used tennis ball from the club which I put into a brown paper bag. Jinks thought it was great.
Very innovative but sadly if it does make it to the market stage, very expensive. The ball in a bag is a great idea, I'll def try that one. The pup particularly likes stamps, Xmas cards and building society letters!
@casablanca Youcan already buy noise cancelling headphones - they sample the sound, reverse the phase 180 deg and mix the reverse sample with the original sound which is thereby cancelled out. The only problem with a noise cancelling dog kennel is that he wouldn't be able to hear you when you shout at him to stop barking in the middle of the night ;-))
Love the idea of the ball and brown paper bag. Jasper has no fear of thunder, lightning or fireworks (in the distance), so he won't be a future Ford client.
You have a discerning pup!
