Get-Pushed Challenge 419
My partner this week challenged me to take, and processi, a photo of a fruit or vegetable in the style of Edward Weston. I wanted to try this. I studied up the Weston photos I could find of fruit and vegetables and came up with this. I felt like it was very hard for me. I guess I really didn't know what I was trying to accomplish.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you for challenging me. This was so much harder than I expected it to be. I just didn't get the photographer's style. I did the best I could.
It's always good to try even when you don't feel like you accomplished the goal. I think he had a lot more contrast in his photography- usually caused by that harsh light Katy mentioned. It's still a good shot of a squash because this one has some really nice texture to it- like an old-man's wrinkles.
@randystreat Kathy I like this, it shows its textures and shape and the light and shadow. As Ann and Katy @olivetreeann@grammyn say, he used very harsh light and manipulated dsrks and light to almost hide the subject. He also used weird subjects from odd angles. Thank you for giving it a go
Good try. There is a difference in the quality of the light. Yours is very delicate. Thanks to the theme, it does not look like a sculpture, but something tasty to eat.

Thanks for all the supportive comments. Maybe I'll try it again before I eat the squash.
