I attended a class on how to make paper yesterday. We brought our wet sheets of paper home to dry. This was the first time I've ever done this. You can tell I'm going to have to practice this more if I intend to have some decent paper. But it was a lot of fun.
Very fun looking. So what is the next step? Are you going to make bigger sheets and use them for wrapping or small sheets to write on. Looks like an interesting craft.
Ditto what they said about the colors. You are learning a lot of different crafts! I’m impressed. Can these sheets be flattened with an iron with the paper under cloth? Practice makes perfect.
This is wonderful, Kathy! Such bright colours and they really make a fun photo.
Your challenge for the week is to show the wind as in "Who has seen the wind?"
Trees bent over? Kites flying? Laundry blowing on the clothes line? Flags flying?
Let me know if this cannot work for you and I will set something else.
That sounds like a very interesting class- and although you can't write on them, those papers will make great textured back grounds for photographs! I'd even take a picture of them and use them in some of my composites.
@grammyn Thanks Katy. The colors, except the red and blue, didn't really turn out as I thought they would. The plain ones look a lot like paper towels. @corinnec Thank you Corinne. @shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie. Don't know. I'm just dabbling at new things because there's only so much I can knit and only so many people to knit for. I'm not sure I will pursue this craft. We'll see. @mcsiegle Thanks Mary. I think I can iron them. I'll probably practice on that little pink blob in the top left corner. I could probably spray them with water and roll them out with a rolling pin, too. We had to carry these around a bit too much I think. @haskar Thank you. I had fun. @wakelys Thank you Sue. It was fun. @pusspup It's easier to take a class and have someone else get everything together for you, I must say. As with any art or craft, one has to purchase equipment and have space. @kjarn I enjoyed the class. I might try it again. @farmreporter Thank you Wendy. Your challenge is great. And I have two weeks for a big blow to come up. @craftymeg It was fun. @olivetreeann It was fun. Actually, if I had rolled them with a rolling pin or roller they can be written on. I guess I could spray one with water and try to get one to that point. I had thought to use some as backgrounds in photos. I like your other ideas too. Thanks Ann. @bkbinthecity Indeed they are. The class was fun. The outcome is growing on me. @pyrrhula Thanks Ferry. @will_wooderson Thanks Will. I don't know. I need to quit thinking so concretely to really appreciate these I think. @joemuli That's a good thought Joey. Black or silver frame or would you suggest color? The instructor said she often frames pieces in shadow boxes. Thank you.
@randystreat shadow boxes are super great for these textural paper art,I would maybe use a black but silver is quiet tempting too..I’ve wht. shadow boxes and I can’t make up my mind what to put in ..I’m excited to see your final results ❤️💕
@randystreat yes. You can see it from the outside by the open windows, ( Galmgaten)
