Get Pushed Challenge 548
Flash of Red 9 - Found
Late, but here it is anyway, my get pushed challenge from last week. My partner suggested a flat lay of mementos from some part of your life which could be (but doesn’t have to be) your professional career, your childhood, your school days (any era), your family history, your married years, etc etc. So I hunted around around the house and found these reminders of my mother. Some are a bit hard to see, but here goes, beginning at 12 o'clock. An embroidered tablecloth (a favorite for bridge club), 3 brooches on the tablelecloth (from l to r a gold and pearl cluster of grapes, a Scottish thistle and a bouquet of china flowers), her portrait around the age of 20, a small silver and blue glass pot with spoon, a head scarf, and sock darner, a heavy vase or pot and crocheted fish pot holder.
@mcsiegle I'm sorry the lighting is not good. I started and got a phone call and somehow ended up taking a nap. Needless to say, the light started to die a bit. I enjoyed this challenge. But where are a the things I thought I had that were my mother's?! Seems that I'm the worst to get rid of things I should have kept. A move of one's household doesn't help that. Hope this is something like what you had in mind.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I'm actually natured to be a hoarder, so I don't know why I haven't kept more stuff. I certainly still have a lot junk sitting around. Thank you though. @Dawn Thank you Dawn. @tunia She was pretty. I have some of her wedding photos and she was pretty in them too. She kept her natural good looks until the ravages of Alzheimer's took them. @wakelys Thanks Sue. @johnfalconer Thank you John. I appreciate your comments very much.
@grammyn Thank you Katy. I appreciate your feedback. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry for those kind words. @corinnec Thank you Corinne. Moving makes one want to purge and it seems I remember that you may be doing this again in the future. @rensala Thank you very much Renee. @granagringa Thank you Madeline. I appreciate the nice comments. @olivetreeann Thank you Ann. Yes, I forgot to mention the Hummel. She had more but I don't know where they got to. @kjarn Thank you Kathy. I have fewer than I realized so future cues tor memorabilia may result in trying to use the same objects in a different way. @pusspup Thank you Wylie. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian. I agree. @craftymeg I'm not sure of the exact date, but I believe this photo of Mom was taken a few years later. I think it was at the same time or a bit before she married my dad. Thank you Meg.
I could have sworn I had left you a comment on this. Sorry, maybe I clicked away without pushing the "Post" button. You have a great variety of mementos gathered here. Very nice!
@mcsiegle Thank you Mary. I know sometimes I look at the photos briefly on my phone just to look at them. Then I get the same sense - that I'd already commented on them.
