The village of Les Baux-de-Provence, perched on a spur of rock, has an incredibly diverse architectural heritage including an extraordinarily beautiful citadel that towers over the surrounding countryside. The Sculpture Park was at its door and we didn’t find the entrance so I just caugt some shots from the road. This one I think was a sculpture by Daniel Pernix after which the park is named.
Les Baux-de-Provence is a listed heritage site that has won titles such as “One of the Most Beautiful Villages in France.” The sun was so strong that sadly it wasn’t conducive for photography and I’m not happy with most of my photos.
Despite its colors and shape the sculpture fits well in its environment. Provence has a rich history and from my perspective is one of the best regions in France.
I’ll be in Provence this autumn.
