I took some snow shots at home with long shadows... I shot my honeybell on my office window sill... I snapped various shots around campus... I pulled off a country road to get some downed trees from the May 2009 derecho... and I didn't like any of 'em. Here's my desperation shot: I set the camera down on the dining room table looking up at the chandelier. Ta-da! Reminds me a bit of Spirograph, yeah?

Oh this is so great. Funny, I love your story. I've already gone through this also.. trying to get cool shots & going as far as to pull over in my car & get out to take a few good shots.. only to come home & realize the best shot was the most simple.

@appealswoman That's part of the "process" for me ... and I'm disappointed when I look at the images of others and there isn't an explanation or "story"...
