Yet another unimaginative post from our garden. For all of the buds on this [double] peony, only one bloom is fully open and one other has started. All of the rest are still tightly packed. So is the big one the “alpha peony”?
Other residents in this bed: mint (foreground), Japanese iris (right), Knockout Rose (behind).
May 2013 edit: The Japanese iris is not a Japanese iris. Still working on what it is!
Later edit: It’s Siberian Iris.

@michelleyoung@digitalrn There were several today, but still only a fraction of the total number of buds! The things I'm seeing because of 365! (Been loving your recent water images, Michelle!)
@rhoing Awwww Thom thank you so much :o) I am trying to get away from water once again for a while lol. We had storms for a few days, so I was stuck to photographing indoors, which means my lure back to water lol. Hope you are well.
