This is the morning we must depart. It’s been a grand week with my brother and sister and their families on Emerald Isle (NC). Today we go home, so it’s au revoir to “Brown & Barefoot” and the Atlantic Ocean just over the empty lot across the street.
We three families occupied a “2nd-row,” 3-story “vacation rental” house. Clare & I had the 3rd-floor bedroom and this is the view out our bedroom’s sliding door to the 3rd-floor deck. (A 4-frame, 12-hour travel day; SOOC.)

@michelleyoung@angievega@sitiodown@digitalrn Thank you, dear friends! It was such a fantastic week with siblings, nieces, nephews, “canine niece” and “canine nephew.” As my brother put it: “Ocean, pool, eats, drinks, cards — REPEAT...” This is the vacation on which we go without a list of things to see or do.
@espyetta Thank you, MaryBeth! You’re very observant about the lighting! The sun is indeed peeking around the corner of the house to the chair! This is because this view directly out to the Atlantic is looking very nearly due *south*!
@exposure4u It was a great spot to vacation! Most nights were cool enough that we opened our sliding door and we could hear the surf across the street and dunes! Ahhhhh!
@jbritt Not quite the morning "magic hour", but not too long after the official sunrise. It *was* hard to leave, and then yesterday we get this: http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2011-07-19
