This stable is on my way to-and-from the lake. Approaching the stable today on my way home, I noticed this guy with two of his chums in the pasture. As I went by, though, I spotted the owner opening a trailer door. I turned around to get a shot of a couple other horses in a pen area close to the road. The next thing I see is the owner pulling the trailer off the property and going by me. Then I saw this one running around and I realize he was now alone: his buddies were in the trailer going elsewhere. Rightly or wrongly, I read this horse's activity as agitation with his friends taken away (temporarily, I hope). He seemed to come over toward the road as if to chase the trailer as far as he could, having to stop at the fence ... and then deal with me. I hope this image with the flared nostrils conveys this guy's apparent state of mind…
