Rowing on the Fourth of July [video]

(Posted to YouTube on July 9.) My first post of a video shot with my GoPro Hero3 sport camera. The video quality leaves a lot to be desired and, not surprisingly, it looks better directly off the hard drive on which it is stored. Ah, but such is the tradeoff with file compression on the web.

The rhythmic “noise”? My older daughter said it sounds like Darth Vader, but it’s not my breathing at all. It’s the sound of the wheels of the seat sliding back-and-forth in their tracks.

At the end of this video (about 0:55), my friend Roland appears at the right edge of the screen in his Peinert Dolphin. It was a fun row, Roland, corner-to-corner on the lake!

What a smooth and peaceful lake! A good deal different than the lake where we have a house. And guess what? I made a 4th of July video too! My "boat ride" at the first part is a bit more frenetic! haha Great video of your row! http://365project.org/espyetta/365/2014-07-04
