A dying laptop… by rhoing

A dying laptop…

Not many frames today; just 3, I think. What with still trying to assimilate everything I brought home from campus, the garage project and now a computer “issue.” (My laptop is quite a bit older — the original OS was Vista! — and has been showing signs of “aging” as well…)

This is Clare’s 4½-year old HP box. Even with relatively light usage, it seems to be nearing the end of its useful life. She’s been getting a black (blank) screen from which the only recovery is powering down and restarting. Next came some flashing lights indicating a corrupt BIOS. Now that the BIOS has been restored, I’m after the RTC battery (just underneath the hard drive with the white label) for a whole ’nother level of “reset”…

So inquiring minds want to know... Did you fix it?

@marlboromaam I tried, but no. I problem zapped it with static electricity when I exposed the motherboard without gloves. :-(
