Yep. The off-site, airport parking service could not find our car key. And that's how the counter attendant told us when we asked about the delay. Eventually the supervisor found us. A locksmith was summoned to come make a duplicate key for our 2010 vehicle (but presumably not a duplicate remote fob.) In the meantime, phone calls were made and the supervisor discovered that one of their attendants had violated Rule #1: empty your pockets before you leave work.
At least an hour after arriving at the lot on their shuttle, a hotel shuttle rolled up and the driver of the shuttle handed off a key to the supervisor and we were shortly on our way home.
In the end:
» The entire bill was comp’ed.
» We will never park here again. Not entirely because they temporarily lost our key, but
(1) the casual attitude reflected in the quote above and
(2) because they let us look for our key in their key room (Airport parking office) … unsupervised!
