State Law… by rhoing

State Law…

We went with our daughter and granddaughter to her 2-year check-up. Everything checked out and she got stuck at the pediatrician's office for the 2-year vaccines. What I didn't know is that we would also have to take her to a clinic for a blood draw to test for lead poisoning. Grandma Clare held her while one tech held her arm and the other tech drew the blood. There were lots of tears…

“Every child in Massachusetts must be tested for lead. The first blood test must be done between the ages of 9 and 12 months. Children must be tested again at ages 2 and 3. If you live in a high-risk neighborhood, your child must also be tested at age 4. Every child must have a blood lead test before they begin kindergarten.” —Having Your Child Tested
Oh boy; she gets to have this done once more next year.

Poor girl! I am sure it is a test for good reason.

Wow, that's something. As a Realtor, we must disclose the possibility of lead-based paint in pre-1978 homes. We don't have a high percentage of them.
