Wadsworth Brewing Company [Travel day]

Spending the night in Wadsworth, Ohio.
Found Wadsworth Brewing Company for beer and pizza.

We ordered a pizza: “The Heathen”: “WBC beer cheese, topped with a generous amount of pepperoni and cheddar cheese.” Yes, cheddar cheese! I took a photo, but the beers — especially #3 — were outstanding. We even bought a couple cans of #3 to take home. Never seen before: they filled the cans and sealed them at the counter.

1. The River Styx Monster (9.4% ABV) This double IPA is named after our region’s bigfoot legend and packs quite the monstrous flavor profile. A very hop forward beer with flavorful citrus notes and a clean and crisp finish.
3. Custard Hook (5.25% ABV) is a smooth and rich Milk Stout with chocolate and raspberries. Its’ [sic] bold and rich roasted flavors are coupled with raspberry and a hint of chocolate. Subtle coffee undertones are evident.
5. Gigadydog (8.5% ABV) This beer is named for one of our customers, Jamie, a young man who recently lost his battle with a rare heart issue. Jamie loved River Styx Monster as well as fruit beers. This beer is a citrusy IPA blended with oranges and the recipe was developed in honor of Jamie and named after his on-line gaming name. Cheers Jamie!
9. National Hotel with vanilla (6.0% ABV) is a Robust Porter with a roasted malt aroma, with chocolate and coffee flavors. The caramel and malty sweetness balances well with the bitterness of black malt. This beer is named for Wadsworth’s former National Hotel that was built on Main Street.

What a cool photo! Do they really taste that different?

@thewatersphotos Oh, my goodness, yes! Ales, lagers and IPAs tend to be "lighter" and more refreshing, while the dark porters and stouts are much more robust and "heavier." In a wine world analogy, these are the whites and reds of beers. :)
