Delicate Cycnia Moth by rhoing

Delicate Cycnia Moth

With the Seek app, I’m no longer “afraid” of moths. :) There are thousands of species of moths in the U.S. and Canada, and fewer than 800 species of butterflies. I know the six broad families of butterflies, but I don’t know where/how to begin ID’ing moths. (There is one superfamily of butterflies and skippers, but more than 30 superfamilies of moths.) Seek makes it easier and now I actually look for moths in the morning.

Moths are exquisite butterflies that fly at night. Of course many fly through the day too. Lovely example of a gorgeous insect.

@jesika2 Now that I'm paying more attention to moths, I agree with you!
