Eastern Pondhawk (female)

I have posted a female Eastern Pondhawk before — “Erythemis simplicicollis,” http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2012-07-23 — but this shot is so much better, I had to post it for today. Besides, once again, it’s not an Eastern Amberwing!

First photo I’ve uploaded the day it was taken in two weeks…

Late edit. With thanks to Jeanne, I believe the flower is verbena.

You're really rocking these insect shots! Who really cares when you posted the photos - we still enjoy them! I'll be away on the Vineyard for 2 days, so I probably won't be posting until Monday - that's what's so great about year 2!

Wow the colors on this are something special. Great catch.
The ship at the MASS Maritime is a training ship, that is all I know about it. You could probably go on line and look up info about it. I do know they use it as dorm space most of the year.
