For those of you that have seen my Bald Eagle shots over the last several days, you've seen adult eagles sitting on this limb. Today, the baby was sitting up there and it sort of sounded like it was lonely, with the calls that it was putting out. Did see this one chasing one of the adults yesterday, since the adult had a large fish in it's claws. Not sure how that was worked out, but sure seems to me, that this fellow should be old enough to start feeding himself. But what do I know. :-) Fortunately, it was low tide today, and I was able to wade and get a little closer shot.
That "baby" is a lot bigger than I expected in a short time. Love the sweet markings they have at that stage. Maybe he's following his parent's instructions on where to perch for his picture so he can be famous, too. Fav
This is a stunning shot Rick, so glad the tide was low (I still have the picture of the croc/gator in my mind). He certainly is much bigger than I would have thought. Fav
Well if you've got parents that can provide it's a lot easier! He's probably got a lot of growing up and learning techniques to do yet. He does look a bit dejected there and those plaintiff calls must be designed to get the parents to look after him a bit more :)
