Was doing a short walk this morning, without my camera, and got to the far end of the walk when I saw this guy just sitting on a low hanging branch. I went ahead and finished my walk, and then circled back by the hawk location, and it was still there. So had to rush back to the car, not expecting it to still be there when I returned. Got back to the car and then drove back up front and got the gear out and walked back to where the hawk had been, and lo and behold, it was still there. Started shooting and walked almost all the way around the hawk, and it just looked at me and then turned away to pay attention to other sounds. Wow, was I surprised to get these shots. And I was probably only about 12 to 15 feet away from it with a tripod and camera. Very brave hawk.
