Went down for sunset this evening, and as I was getting out of the car, heard the familiar sound of the Blue Jays, attacking something. Started looking around and then saw the owl fly away, with the Blue Jays in chase. So went back and changed the lens and went over to where the Blue Jays were still making their voices heard, and here sat the owl. The Blue Jays were literally attacking the owl. I think as I moved under the tree, it sort of disturbed the Jays and they flew away. So was able to then get a couple of shots of this guy with the eyes open, and then it flew away, again.
Those darn blue jays will take on anyone - really bullies. When they show up in the yard - everyone hightails it out - even the other blue jays! At least they gave you a great shot of the owl! Love those big eyes!
