Was driving out of my neighborhood and saw this guy stalking one of the flower beds, so pulled into the parking lot next to it. Got out and was standing behind a tree, to not be seen by the egret, and to steady the camera. Next thing I know, this guy pulls up and rolls down the window, and starts giving me the third degree. Said the Sheriff's department had been notified, and then he wanted to know what I was doing. I thought it was sort of obvious, and then I told him I was taking pictures of this bird. Then he ask if I was on the Sheriff's dept, and was I spying on someone. So I finally just told him I shoot around here all of the time and didn't think it was any of his business, and then turned on back and finished getting my shots. I waited for a little bit, but no Sheriff's showed up, so I resumed my trip. Anyone else have an episode like this.
Oh boy. I think the crazies are out this week. Glad you didn't let him deter you. Bird photographers are usually naturalists and do a lot to promote the welfare of animals and the environment by sharing these kind of images.
