I think these are just small grasshoppers that will grow up to be quite large. They do tend to eat some of the greenery, but don't thing that they are too destructive. Did use a macro lens for this shot, so that may give you an idea just how small that they really are. Danette, these are not cicadas. These just grow up to be a rather large grasshopper.
