Still struggling with the whole plain, abstract sooc and abstract edited concepts. Moved the "spatula in a mirror" to the abstract sooc group and put this one in the plain group. Will try to turn this one into an abstract edited. Hopefully!
While you might be confused you are still producing some great images and that is all that matters.
I wanted to put an idea to you. I was wondering if to start another abstract challenge not linked to the mundane object. It would mean that it could be freer For example the theme could change each time and be something like line, colour, shape, texture. I wondered what you thought.
I am keen to get more abstract on the site.
@sarahlth I think that would be a great idea. I haven't looked at all of the themes and challenges that are already present, but I don't think there is anything like you are suggesting. It would allow for opportunities to focus on different techniques too, maybe? I'm not sure how you would get it going. Do you post a suggestion on the themes and challenges discussion section and see what response there is? Maybe ask for suggestions re format and objectives and possible themes?
Such an interesting image..the reflection and the tones and the shape work so well. I had no idea this was a spatula and by the way, the focus is so good too.
@granagringa Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it. I thought the metal spatula may be more interesting than the black plastic one. It turned out to be quite good because it had a bend in its shape.
