Hmmm - should we move on maybe?

Luckily our neighbour had notified us that she was doing a controlled burn - it would have been quite scary otherwise. We were amazed by the nonchalance of the alpacas....
Wow what details here and colours. How much was burnt.

Looks a decent burn off

What a dramatic shot, I love it. Oblivious sheep!

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Jackie - our neighbour has 50 odd acres of forest but I think they only burnt a small section - about 10 acres. Apparently they do it bit by bit.

@joannakate Hi Joanna - I think they will have to come back - they ran out of time and only got the back done.

@casablanca Hi Casablanca - it got a even more dramatic at one point - an old tree crashed down in a huge wall of fire. The stupid animals were alpacas - but I think you are right - they are just as dense as sheep! Although they did look when the tree crashed down! :)

Very interesting field photography should we say? Very dramatic, the fire the colours and the alpacas. Fav

It's like they knew it was all under control. Clever title for the sixws.

Oh my, I cant get my head round setting fires on purpose. Are they your Alpacas Rob? we have Llamas across the road, they make me chuckle!

@robz Oh my, they only looked up?!? Bonkers! Alpacas.....of course they are, but they so looked like freshly shorn sheep to me!

@caterina Hi Caterina - thanks for your comment and the fav! I like your idea of field photography - we've got lots of fields-but not many streets! :)

@taffy Hi Taffy _ I think you might be being very kind to the alpacas - it probably didn't even occur to them to be worried. They seem to be particularly dumb!. I love the sixws challenge - always a challenge to find the six words to say what you want. I'm glad you liked this one. Thanks for your comment. Cheers Rb

@suzanne234 Hi Suzanne - controlled burns are recommended here to help prevent catastrophic bush fires - and some native plants can only germinate after their seeds have been through a fire. However, it is still a bit of a worry - sometime the fires get away! The alpacas belong to our neighbour - she also has a llama. The llama seems to be a much nicer animal - the alpacas are pretty horrible - they actually terrorize our dog!. Thanks for having a look - cheers Rob.

@casablanca Hi Casablanca - funny that you should say they look like sheep - our neighbour owns them and at one stage she also had a sheep - she inherited it as a companion animal for a horse. Once she got the alpacas the sheep was quite conflicted - he couldn't decide whether he was a horse or an alpaca! I don't like the alpacas - they terrorize our dog - even when she's in her own yard! :)

@stimuloog Thanks Marloes - unfortunately they don't seem to be the most intelligent creatures.....

This is so interesting...and so many parts of it could stand alone as a separate shot, all with their own good composition....left half, right half, lower portion and upper, each part could stand alone.

@granagringa Your comment was so useful - when I had a look at it what you have said was so obvious. It was almost like a composite of parts - that's probably what made it so interesting to watch! :)
