Maybe from scratching? no idea, but seen cows a few days back that did the strangest things to get rid of all the flies that wont leave em alone... such a sad sight...
@olivetreeann Thanks Ann - it's been so dry here that there is very little feed for the horses - except for a bit on the other side of our barbed wire fence!! I swear they must have skin like tough old leather!!
@madeinnl Flies are horrible to animals - especially near their eyes - very sad as you said. This was the horses leaning over our barbed wire fence to get a feed.
@suzanne234 You are so right Suzanne - they must have incredibly tough skin - the barbed wire seems to make no difference to them - especially now when there's not much feed on their side of the fence.
