The "Hidden Lagoon" is a part of the Golden Circle of attractions to the North East of Reykjavik in Iceland. Thermal pools are enormously popular but quite expensive to use. This one was free to wander around but cost approx 30Euros to go for a swim. The famous "Blue Lagoon" back in town(about 45 mins drive) was 60Euros for a swim! (But you've just got to do it.....)
All the Nordics are expensive, their wages, so costs of living, are high, compared to us. And then there's the exchange rate........ what a lovely blues here
Definitely an expensive dip- especially when one can replicate it in the privacy of a tub! hehe- being silly. Of course it's worth the experience if you know you'll never have the opportunity to try it again.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Jacky - we had been warned that it was expensive - but we found that some things were not too bad and some were outrageous. Cooking at home in an apartment was pretty cheap but going out to a restaurant was very dear - good fun though to try their cuisines!. And the tours were crazy prices - we didn't do any ( don't like the crowds anyway!) It was all worth it for the experience!! Cheers Rob
@rosie00 We did Lesley - it was pretty cool - we went at night - it was all steamy with spooky lighting and had saunas and spas and steam rooms and hot waterfalls to play in!! Expensive but lots of fun.
@golftragic Normally I'd agree - I don't like going in stagnant warm water with a lot of people - but this was a continuous flow of warm water and it was actually super fun to go at night. :)
@olivetreeann You've hi the nail on the head Ann - that's exactly what we thought - if you go all that way it's silly not to do the exciting or fun or interesting things. And the pool at night was great fun.
