The "Lil Geysir" was pretty reliable - about every 5 mins he blew about 3 meters of hot water into the air. It then trickled down into the swimming pool.
I do love a geyser! enjoyed them in NZ all those years ago near Rotorua and in California in the Napa Valley. Such fun things to watch, though shocking to remember that means you are in an active volcanic area!!
Hi Ko, Lesley,Ann, Marnie,Casablanca, Taffy and Jane. Thank you all for your interest in the Lil Geysir (I thought I'd spelt it wrongly - then I realized that was the Icelandic spelling :) )This little fellow was pretty safe but the steam coming up all around was incredible - there were pools big enough to swim in - but they were actually bubbling and boiling. Apparently, in the old days, they used to cook lunch for the school kids in those pools. Further on in the Golden Circle there was a really big geysir - it blew and rained down on a group of visitors - but by then the water had cooled enough to not be dangerous. Spectacular though. Cheers Rob :) @madeinnl@rosie00@olivetreeann@golftragic@casablanca@taffy@jgpittenger
