Shadows by robz

Shadows

I don't know who won! My camera and I often have disagreements about what is wanted. My Get Pushed partner @northy suggested I should be boss and make him focus on the shadow not the object.....
You have assigned a gender to your camera?? I think you won this battle - that is a cool and scary shadow.

Hi Northy @northy Well we had a big discussion and I tried to trick him into focusing on the shadow - it was easy when the shadow and image were in the same plane - but very tricky otherwise. It's something I'll keep working on - there must be a way to win this argument! Cheers Rob

@kiwinanna Lol Liana - he's definitely a boy - very opinionated and determined and, dare I say, uncooperative..... :)

@robz Hi Rob, thanks for the challenge. I've had a look through your project and you seem to have done just about everything.

I will keep thinking and pose a challenge for you some time tomorrow.

Hi Rob,

your challenge for Get Pushed this week is a high key image.

Have fun!

Interesting challenge...and does the camera have a name? one you can say in public?

A malevolent shadow 🌚

You've succeeded here Rob, making me wonder about the gender of my camera now!

This came up quite interesting... I take it your camera doesn’t let you pick your points of focus?

This is an interesting shot, can't quite work out what it is though.

@bizziebeeme Thanks so much - it was quite a challenging challenge! :)

@sangwann Hi Dione - thanks for having a look - the object is a wallaby lower jaw bone - found in our paddock. It's quite a photogenic little thing - in a gory sort of way! :)

@jacqbb Hi Jacqueline - He still got his way with the focus on the very front of the bone. It seems that this whole concept is a bit of an issue for my camera. Oh well - it does fit in my pocket - which is what I need. Cheers Rob

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Lol - thanks Jackie - it was a tussle and a bit of a compromise at the end! :)

@thatkiwiguy Thanks David - I'll give it a go! Cheers Rob

@granagringa Lol Granagringa - he gets called lots of names - but most not for public hearing! He does maintain a certain aura of uncertainty though! Cheers Rob

@hermann What a great description! Thanks Sally!

@fbailey Lol FB - your cameras seem to be much more accommodating!!. :)

@golftragic Hi Marnie - it's a lower jaw bone of a wallaby that we found in the paddock. It's quite photogenic - if a little gory! :)

@northy Hi Northy - this was such a good challenge - I didn't realize how prescriptive my camera was in deciding on the focus point to be used. After I zoom in or out to give a clear image on the screen a half click on the shutter chooses a point to focus exactly - if it's not the one I want I can half click again and it chooses another point etc. I can't actually identify the point I want it to use - it usually works quite well with macros but it didn't like the shadow concept. It'll be something to keep trying to sort out. Thanks for suggesting it. Cheers Rob
