This fascinating plant never has leaves - it grows in a relationship with a host plant - living on the soil fungi, which are themselves living on the decayed matter around the host - which is always partly of fully dead. Usually the host is a Eucalypt - but this one was growing on a Cypress Pine - most unusual.
