This fascinating National Park conserves 84,900ha of Mitchell Grass Downs and Channel Country. Impressive flat-topped plateaus and residual sandstone ranges provide a scenic backdrop in the far distance.
It's a fabulous place to explore.
When I see photos like this I always think of my daughter's ex Mother in Law. At our daughter and her son's wedding in Melbourne she said 'Australia is really crowded'. We nearly dropped. I don't think she has ever travelled more than 20 km from Doncaster East in her life. ha ha
@fbailey Hi FB - thanks for your comment. It's been a trip in the making since early last year - lots of planning and booking, but it seems to be paying off now. We wanted to do it while we still could!! Cheers Rob
@joysabin Hi Joy - I tried it on black - it did seem to make the far distant details much more noticeable. So interesting - thank you for the suggestion. :)
@onewing LOL Babs- that's truly funny - she needs to get out in the wide open spaces a bit more. It's not as busy as it could have been up here. I think the whole Fitzroy River crossing problem may put some people off. :)
@pusspup Winton has so much to offer that I think this NP gets neglected. We spent about 6 hours there and saw 2 other cars....And it's such an interesting spot. :)
