The Daly Waters Pub is known far and wide as a fun stop on the way up to Darwin. It has a character all of its own.
And opposite the pub, in a rundown tin shed, is Tim's Junkyard.
That's Tim at the bottom, mobile in his buffalo cart, accompanied by his adopted horse and annoying donkey, addressing the patrons of the pub in the beer garden.
Tim's Junkyard is not aptly named. Tim's Junkyard contains multiple museum quality items, all on public display for anybody who pays their $3.00 entry fee.
Tim has been collecting and restoring motorbikes ( Harleys, Indians, Vintage bikes with side-cars and many famous bikes which have featured in block buster movies), vintage cars and trucks with memorabilia, and a wide range of Australiana for 50 years. All now in immaculate condition, pristine in their tin shed.
BTW - Tim is also the owner of the pub!
Great story with this collage of beautiful shots. I would be very interested to have a look inside, and at just $3.00 per visit. Looks like Tim is a very relaxed man.
This place sounds exactly like "Bill's Old Bike Barn and Museum" which is not far from. It has a similar collection of antique motorcycles, cars, Americana and collectibles- all gathered from years and years of donations and estate sales. I think Bill and Tim would get along famously! (Only Bill has a dog, no horse and no donkey.) Great collage!
