Sometimes negative images work and sometimes they don't. The characteristics of colour combinations are fascinating. The wattles in the middle have analogous blue and green - but how does brown fit in? Where is brown on the colour wheel - what combination? The same wattles at the top have been made to be monochromatic - it seems to work - to be harmonious. But what happens when the colours are inverted? I don't like that combination very much.

@bintal Hi Sylvia - thanks for your interesting comment - I didn't like the bottom combination much either - but after reading what you said I looked at it as a whole - and it's not too bad.! maybe because there's a progression down the page - each image is getting darker overall and the brown seed cases have swapped with the brown background? And the black background seems to tie them all together. Thank you for taking the time to look at all of that - I found it most useful! Cheers Rob.
