A typical homestead on the shores of a fjord.

The green pasture lifts this photo in difficult conditions!

Looks lovely, but I wouldn't like to be there in winter.

@rosie00 Thanks Lesley - I seems to want to rain a lot - but often it just fizzles out!!

@madeinnl "Go forth (North) young man/woman" - I just realized that I didn't know which to write here - your profile picture of a camera is a very good disguise!! It is a beautiful part of the world!!

@jgpittenger Hi Jane - it's so different to home - and I would imagine to your part of the world. The farms seem terribly small and we had to wonder how they can make a living from their terribly small, very isolate holdings. Apparently, in some sections, the Govn pays them a subsidy to maintain their original holdings and hence the historical integrity of the countryside.

@golftragic I agree Marnie - it must be pretty awful!

I'm enjoying your tour and descriptions and shots; this one especially.

@granagringa Hi Granagringa - I'm sorry to have been so long answering you - we haven't had much spare time. It's nice to know that you are enjoying our "travel" photo. It's always a bit of a worry that they may be boring. The Norwegian Coastline was amazing - such big scenery - and then such "little" coloured houses - it does tend to lead to photo overload!! LOL Thanks for having a look :)
