Hi Margo, Peter, Babs, Koala Gardens, and Jacqueline - Thanks for your comments - we are lucky enough to have these on our farm block - they are pretty much what prompted us to move here and we never tire of them. Thanks for your interest. Cheers Rob @777margo@peadar@onewing@koalagardens@jacqbb
Hi Etienne and Mariana- thanks for your comment on this rock. I thought I'd let you know how it formed. It's granite and formed from molten magma cooling under the Earth. The topsoil gradually got eroded away and a huge domed surface was exposed. This had cracks in it which let water seep in. The water freezes and expands and cracks layers off the dome. The angles of the cracks sometimes means that some areas erode quicker than others and funny shapes such as this can form. I has taken millions of years. It's an amazing area to live in. Thanks for your interest.. Cheers Rob :) @etienne@mv_wolfie
@gamelee Lol Lee - We sort of take them for granted - but now that you have mentioned it - every now and then one does go crashing down into a gully or paddock!
