We don't get town water, or electricity on the grid or garbage collection - so all our garbage gets taken into the local collection point. It is also a recycling centre and people often browse for a bargain!
Such a story here and the infrared again is a wonderful mood producer. I’m totally impressed that you live so off the grid. We did when we first moved to Oregon. But now we at least have electricity and could have garbage pick up if we walked it to the end of our 1/2 mile driveway and we’re willing to pay for it!
@jgpittenger Hi Jane - Our lack of facilities was a bit scary for us when we first came here - but we're used to it now and it all seems to work quite well. No water or power bills either. But, strangely enough, our rates here -where we get nothing from the Council - are nearly as high as the rates on the Gold Coast! Mind you - a bit of rain would be nice!! Cheers Rob
The IR view completely transforms the perception of the scene, but still preserves a feeling of naturality. And btw, people keep collecting bargains here as well, it is almost a sport.
@golftragic Hi Marnie - the IR is turning out to be really interesting and it does so many different things when you start to edit it - quite fascinating .... :)
@etienne Finding and collecting "treasures" must be a human trait - people queue up for the opening of the other "dump shop" in Town - it only opens once a week - it's like a social gathering. I must admit to being a bit addicted! :)
